Never fear! On one such a mercy mission, I came up with just the solution! Home made chocolate. And it’s so healthy, it’s actually good for you! I kid you not!
Chocolate in a Cup Recipe
Take a heaped teaspoon of each of the following ingredients and throw them into a cup:
- Raw cacao powder
- LSA (ground linseed, sunflower seeds and almonds)
- Honey
- Almond butter
- Add a tspn boiled water and mix.
The amount is for one person, so apportion the above for each person. Allow each member to stir their own chocolate till a smoothe-ish texture is achieved. It’s part of the fun! The hard part is trying to eat it slowly and not scoff it all in two mouthfuls. The sound of happy chocolate munchers scraping at their cups to round up every last scrap is something you’ll get used to. You may need to keep the movie on pause if the sound is distracting!
Let’s consider the ingredients and their benefits:
- Cacao powder increases the happiness factor, increases memory, reduces heart disease, helps shed fat, improves immune system, and increases energy! It contains four times the amount of antioxidants than processed dark chocolate and twenty times more than blueberries!
- LSA is a ground meal of linseeds, sunflower seeds and almonds. It cleanses and detoxes the liver while regulating fat metabolism. It’s also a great source of omega 3 and essential vitamins and minerals; LSA is also high in protein, fibre, omega 3, 6 and 9, essential fatty acids, vitamins A, E, D, B1, B2, B5, magnesium, manganese, calcium, phosphorus, potassium, selenium, copper, zinc!
- Honey is anti-inflammatory, an energy boost, memory and sleep enhancer, anti-septic and anti-bacterial agent to name but just a few properties!Almonds help lower cholesterol and the risk of heart disease, they’re a good source of Vitamin E, magnesium, manganese, copper, riboflavin and potassium! What’s more, they help with weight reduction!
So eating your home-created chocolate is not only yummy, but the best medicine for your body too! Go crazy! Make sure you have these four ingredients in your kitchen cupboard at all times! I have sometimes substituted coconut butter for almond butter and if you’re vegan, substitute maple syrup or another sweetener for honey! Bon appetit!
