Clean windows. Nice to have but a bugger to do. I can spend endless hours in the garden, fossicking around, cleaning up and sorting, planting and harvesting….but when it comes to the house, my enthusiasm wanes a bit. House cleaning is just so tedious and endless! But then once you’ve done a good bit of cleaning, it feels really good, doesn’t it?
So clean windows don’t need to cost much, just some white vinegar and old newspaper. Voila! A bit of elbow grease (that’s the rubbing part) and they’ll sparkle up some envy in the neighbours. Here’s how to get the best-looking windows on the street…
1 cup white vinegar
1 cup warm water
2 -3 drops dishwashing liquid (optional)
Combine all ingredients in a reusable spray bottle. Spray onto windows (inside or outside) and clean with a damp cloth. Buff the windows up to a squeaky clean with a page of newspaper scrunched up.
Yes, it really is that easy! But as you can see from the photo above, I have LOTS of windows to clean..The hardest part….finding the motivation to do it! So……..I set myself small window tasks, one room at a time, so as not to put it off to another day (or month). Small doses of cleaning do me well. Some people like cleaning. I just don’t, but I know I have to, so I focus on little bits at a time. Haha! Anyway, it always feels fantastic after the job is done.
Tra la laaa……I can see clearly now!
